Meet Marc

Marc Padberg started his career in 1986 and joined Kneppelhout in 2010 as its Managing Partner, occupying this position until 2013. During that period, he steered the Firm in the right direction and, to a large degree, is responsible for the enterprising culture Kneppelhout now has and expresses. Currently, he is focused on the business for 100%. He is building on new initiatives and coaching young talent.

Marc is an all-round, extremely experienced Commercial & Litigation Lawyer with a great feel for people, cases and situations. He is also regularly asked to serve as an arbitrator or mediator. His most important expertise lies in the area of International Trade, Sanctions & Export Control, Insurance, Transport (Sea, Air & Road) and Port Activities. In 2011, Chambers wrote the following about him: ‘Impressive expertise in handling complex cases.' In order to share his insights and enrich the profession, he has published countless articles for national and international legal journals. Marc is a frequently asked speaker, young at heart, enthusiastic and active both in his work and private life.

Marc and Kneppelhout

‘I believe things can always be better, particularly when it comes to legal services and the flip side of the coin. At Kneppelhout, everyone shares this view. I like to look for the bigger picture and am very able to step into the client’s shoes and see things from his perspective as well as whereto this will lead.’

Marc Padberg was selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in the Netherlands 2016 in the fields of Regulatory Practice, Trade Law and Transportation Law.

Marc is a member of the Dutch Bar Association.

Leisure

I like to play tennis, to row, ski and hike, and – at least in sports -  always want to win. I have a weakness for people. I like to work as a team and to see how young people develop and the approach they take to things. Simply having fun is a very real part of this.
