Meet Florian

Before joining Kneppelhout & Korthals Lawyers (Kneppelhout), Florian Fehres worked as a (senior) legal counsel for the United Nations and the Nobel Prize winning Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) for almost a decade. He focused on, amongst others, treaty and contract negotiations, project management and financing. Florian subsequently worked for various international firms and was the founder and managing partner of an international niche law firm in corporate law, tax and finance.

Since he joined Kneppelhout, Florian heads the transaction practice of the firm which under his leadership has doubled year after year building a solid track record of successfully closed deals along the way. Florian is a specialist within sectors characterized by heavy regulation, government interference, technological development and innovation.

Florian concentrates on domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and other strategic partnerships, (leveraged) buy outs, restructurings, financing and (real estate) assets transactions. Florian has a broad range of international clients in various sectors, which include private equity firms, institutional investors, (privately held) multinationals, corporate and strategic parties, entrepreneurs and/or their stakeholders.

As the Head of M&A, Florian is a strong innovator, changing the legal landscape by deploying state of the art tools and techniques (such as the latest Legal Process Management tools and Artificial Intelligence) in favour of his clients and the business they operate. Florian is recognized for adding value during the entire M&A cycle and utilizing his extensive global network to the benefit of his clients. Considering his broad international experience, diplomatic skills and personal approach Florian is appreciated by his clients to be their stronghold during challenging and decisive negotiations.

Florian is a published author and was awarded personal recognition for his contribution to the OPCW winning the Nobel Peace Prize in 2013. In addition, Florian was nominated as “Outstanding Young Lawyer of the Year” for the International Bar Association. Florian is an engaging speaker at (international) events.

Florian graduated in Civil Law and Corporate Law from Leiden University and completed a bachelor in Business Management. He is fluent in Dutch and English and proficient in German. Florian is an active member of the International Bar Association as well as the American Bar Association.
